Providing help at the touch of a button 24 hours a day for 365 days of the year, Mole Valley District Council's (MVDC) telecare service provides independence, security and peace of mind in the home.
The service on offer is extremely versatile and available to anyone. The telecare equipment is simple to install and the basic equipment comprises of a base unit connected to your phone line and an alarm pendant which can be worn around the neck or wrist.
By pressing the button on the pendant, you will automatically be connected to the 24 hour Telecare Service Centre where friendly operators will be waiting to help you. Current service users include people who are:
- caring for a partner or relative
- living alone
- vulnerable; perhaps with a medical condition
- people with various disabilities
- people who have been a victim of doorstop crime
Key information about the telecare service
This is an all inclusive service available to residents in Mole Valley and Reigate and Banstead; from supplying, installing and maintaining the equipment to call monitoring and annual visits. Additional equipment is also available which can help to provide extra protection to you and your property.
It is very important that the telecare services team have personal details about you; including medical conditions and who you would like the team to contact in an emergency. Do not worry if you don't have anyone nearby, if this is the case, a key safe to access your property in an emergency can be installed.
MVDC's telecare service is accredited to the Telecare Services Association Code of Practice and is a founding member of Surrey Telecare.
The basic package for Alarm and Pendant is £4.50 (excluding VAT) per week by direct debit. (£19.50 per month).
