We Need Your Views on Kingston Road Play Facilities
Residents are invited to take part in a public consultation running from Wednesday 21 February to Friday 9 March, to help shape the upcoming refurbishment of the existing playground at Kingston Road Recreation Ground in Leatherhead.Residents and the users of the current playground can vote for their favourite three from the six preliminary playground designs submitted by interested play companies. Please visit www.molevalley.gov.uk/kingstonroadplayground to view and vote on the imaginative and innovative designs. The designs and voting forms can also be found by visiting Mole Valley District Council's (MVDC) Pippbrook offices in Dorking or the HelpShop in Leatherhead.
MVDC will be engaging directly with local schools and youth groups to get their views on the designs too. The three most popular designs, selected by a combination of MVDC's own assessment and residents' votes, will be subject to a final stage of consultation in April. Prior to that final stage, the three successful play companies will have the opportunity to make changes to their designs, taking into account feedback from this current round of consultation.
In addition, the local community will be invited in early March 2018 to have their say on proposed designs for refurbished skate park facilities at the recreation ground. For more information and to view the designs from next month, visit www.molevalley.gov.uk/kingstonroadskatepark.
MVDC Executive Member for Wellbeing, Councillor Lucy Botting, said: "It is very exciting that the play facilities at the Kingston Road Recreation Ground in Leatherhead will be refurbished for this summer as part of our ongoing programme of investment in play provision in the district. Both facilities will provide young people and families a fantastic outlet to have fun and enjoy themselves. It will also importantly encourage our residents to lead active lives and improve the health of children."
