Spooky Goings on in Leatherhead this Halloween
Leatherhead's freakishly popular spooktacular Halloween celebrations, supported by Mole Valley District Council, the Swan Centre and the Leatherhead Chamber of Commerce, will return on Wednesday 31 October from 3.30-6.30pm for the whole family to have skele-fun.Not only does Leatherhead represent the best place to enjoy Halloween celebrations this year, with a whole host of delightfully devilish treats in store for all ages, but Mole Valley District Council's (MVDC) free parking offer in the town's car parks from 3pm is yet another reason to visit and explore the town.
Visitors can look forward to a variety of side stalls, gruesome games and magic shows, as well as free popcorn and candyfloss to keep energy up while exploring the town's streets. You won't know 'witch' way to look as the ghastly grannies roam the High Street, together with a trio of fire performers who will be putting on some un-boo-lievable performances throughout the afternoon.
Those brave enough will get the chance to hold a tarantula, have a spooky picture taken in a scary outfit - fancy dress is encouraged - in the free photo booth and trick or treat around the 25 participating shops to try and unearth a number of hidden skeletons in the always-popular Skeleton Scavenge. The event will close in style with a Freaky Dress Competition in Leatherhead Theatre at 6.15pm.
Councillor Simon Edge, MVDC Cabinet Member for Prosperity, said: "Leatherhead's Halloween celebration is one of the most popular community events of the year across Mole Valley. I am delighted Transform Leatherhead is able to support this fun-filled seasonal afternoon for residents and visitors to the town.
"The organisers have pulled out all the stops once again, and we hope you will take advantage of our free parking offer in Leatherhead from 3pm. We want to encourage people to flock to the town's many shops, cafes and restaurants."
