Transform Leatherhead's Spring Public Forum Update

A new vision for the Swan Centre, the latest on a High Street Improvement study and a call for support for the Future High Streets Fund Bid were just a few of the items covered at Mole Valley District Council's Transform Leatherhead Spring Public Forum.

Councillor Simon Edge, Cabinet Member for Prosperity, said: "The Spring Forum was a great opportunity to share our progress and to hear from retail specialists Cushman & Wakefield. We were pleased to welcome so many attendees and online viewers on the night.

"John Percy, Head of Development and Place for Cushman & Wakefield, gave an exciting presentation exploring their recommended Masterplan for the Swan Centre's future that Mole Valley District Council will be considering at its Cabinet meeting on 26th March.

"We were delighted to share our latest news on the High Street Improvement study currently being undertaken by Arcadis, leading global experts in design and consultancy. Also, the great progress of our short term refurbishment of the Swan Centre, which is on track for completion in September and an interesting insight into the traffic modelling software we are using to understand the traffic flows within Leatherhead and what would happen if we made changes.

"We were also pleased by the support for our bid for inclusion in the Future High Streets Fund. If you would like to support the bid, you can vote online at www.molevalley.gov.uk/futurehighstfund or send a letter of support to transformleatherhead@molevalley.gov.uk. Every vote and letter of support counts!

"We look forward to welcoming everyone back at the next forum."

On the night an engaging question and answer session took place with experts from Cushman and Wakefield and the project team. Questions that were not answered on the night will be posted in the Forum Q&A section on the Transform Leatherhead website www.transformleatherhead.com.

The evening ended with a special presentation to Peter Snell, a key member of the Leatherhead Community for many years who has recently retired.

Those who missed out on the forum can download the presentation from our website www.transformleatherhead.com or watch the film of the evening via our Facebook page www.facebook.com/Transformleatherhead.
