Statement from Cllr Malcomson regarding Waste Collections

Councillor Claire Malcomson, Cabinet Member for Environment at Mole Valley District Councillor said, "When the Amey contract began in August 2018, there were some initial teething problems, but things did settle down. Whilst there were some missed bins, rounds were routinely completed. I was very disappointed when I took over at the end of May this year to find the problems with our bin service.

"At that point in May there were issues, including a number of rounds not being completed, frustrating many of our residents. Last week, I met with Amey's senior management who have now agreed to put a number of improvements in place.

"We will continue to monitor the collection performance on a daily basis and, whilst there has been some improvement, it is much too early to say that this is being sustained. We remain committed to monitoring the situation and will continue to update everyone.

"We urge all our residents to report any problems with their bins directly via our website www.molevalley.gov.uk or by calling us on 01306 885001."
